How it works

What is checked
Phone numbers, sender addresses and domains, defanged URLs, and every subject-line variant on record — each one dated to the wave it appeared in.
Order of matching
Exact indicator first (a phone number or domain is either on record or not), then subject-line resemblance. A resemblance is shown as "looks like", never as a verdict.
What "no match" means
Only that this exact thing is not on record. Indicators change weekly; a family can be active with a number we have not seen yet. An empty result is never "safe".
Where the index comes from
Generated at build time from the same JSON files that render the family records: /scams/check-index.json and /scams/indicators.json. Anyone can reuse them (CC BY 4.0).
Privacy
No request leaves the page when you check something. If you choose to report a message, that is a separate, explicit step.
